Equality in Energy

January 15, 2015

The Women in Science and Engineering club from the University of Calgary in collaboration with ConocoPhillips Canada is excited to announce the Equality in Energy event taking place on March 12, 2015. The event will allow the female future of our industry to gain insight into the many career opportunities in science and engineering in our energy sector from the present female workforce.

Classically, women are underrepresented in these fields and it is the mission of WISE to support and promote women in the fields of science and engineering. It is our belief that knowledge is power and thus informing the next generation of the many opportunities available to them is the first step in rectifying this problem. Luckily, ConocoPhillips Canada feels the same way, leading to the formation of this once in a lifetime event for high school girls.

These girls will hear about the exciting careers in the energy sector in the areas of science and engineering from women currently in those positions. Not only will there be informative presentations and interactive stations, but also the opportunity for the girls to network and ask questions of these industry professionals providing role models and mentors for their future.

Stay tuned to this website for further details as our speakers are announced. Limited space available so register now!

"Science is not a boy's game, it's not a girl's game. It's everyone's game. It's about where we are and where we're going."
